After Business Management in college I began working in the bar of the Forte Posthouse Hotel (currently Maldron Hotel Dublin Airport) in 1998. I got the bug for the Hospitality Industry from then. From there I had a number of roles across the hotel in reception as supervisor, accounts with training in income audit, debtors and payroll with last operational role as Front of House Manager.  In 2013, I took the decision to change path and was successful in applying for the Corporate Sales Manager within the Hotel.

 

I got the opportunity to participate in the Dalata Sales Development Programme. It was the perfect course for me on so many levels. After being in so many reactive roles, I was struggling to change my approach to a more proactive one which is a must in any Sales role. I also needed to gain confidence with cold calling and face to face meetings to achieve the results I needed to be successful in my role. I was able to take away the skills I needed to do this from The Sales Development Programme.

 

I was honoured to be presented with The Outstanding Student of the Year at the Dalata Hotel group awards in 2015.

I am a currently a Mentor for new participants in the Dalata Sales Development Programme The Programme promotes active participation, understanding sales dynamics, working together, and delivering results. It gives me a great sense of pride knowing that I have a part in that.
