In 2016, we launched #DalataDigsDeep , our charity initiative which sees us raising funds for our charity partner, in the Ireland and the UK.
We partner with CMRF Crumlin, for the Republic of Ireland. Each of our hotels & their teams have been fundraising non-stop for this great cause. Over the last two years, the hotel group has raised €419,000 for CMRF Crumlin with an aim to exceed half a million by the end of 2018.
Funds raised from the partnership have been invested in a substantive piece of research work in Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a cancer of the nervous system that primarily affects children aged 5 and younger and is responsible for approximately 15% of childhood cancer deaths. 1 in 5 children in whom the cancer has spread significantly will not respond to treatment. Of those that do respond, 50% will develop drug resistance, leading, in many cases to death. Dalata Hotel Group and all their staff are committed to this project and understand the great need for funding into research.
