John was appointed in 2014 and has been part of the Dalata story ever since. He is a Chartered Director and a practising barrister. He is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also an accredited mediator.

Dermot commenced his role as CEO of Dalata on 1st November 2021. Prior to this he worked with PWC, Procter & Gamble, Forte Hotels and Renault before joining Jurys Doyle Hotel Group plc in 2000 as Head of Development. He spent six years with Ion Equity before joining Dalata in 2012 as Deputy Chief Executive – Business Development and Finance. He has been an instrumental part of the executive team that has overseen the growth of the Maldron and Clayton brands in Ireland and the UK since the company floated in early 2014. Dermot is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a graduate of University College Cork.  

Carol joined Dalata in November 2014 and was promoted to CFO in July 2021. She has extensive experience in corporate finance, strategy development, financial reporting and controls from previous senior roles in Ion Equity and KPMG. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a First Class Honours Master of Accounting. 

Shane joined Dalata in March 2014 as Head of Strategy and Development and has been instrumental in driving the Company’s growth through acquisition and development activity in Ireland and the UK. Shane was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in September 2024. He previously worked as Head of Development at Jurys Doyle Hotel Group plc and held senior positions with Ion Equity, Microsoft Europe and Musgrave Group. He is a graduate of University College Cork and Chartered Accountant.  

Cathriona recently retired as Managing Director, Microsoft Ireland after 35 years with the company, where she was responsible for driving Microsoft’s commercial business on the island of Ireland. She represented the company in Ireland on all strategic policy, corporate affairs and communications issues, including overseeing many community, education and innovation programmes. Cathriona sits on several boards, including the UCD Advisory Board, Trinity Business School Advisory Board, and Keelings. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum, the Institute of Directors, Institute of Accounting Technicians (IATI), a fellow of ACCA, and a fellow of the IMI. Cathriona is a qualified Executive Coach and is passionate about change management and leadership development. 

Elizabeth is an experienced director and has served on the boards of both public and private companies. She is currently the Chair of Nichols plc and the Senior Independent Director at both Custodian Property Income REIT plc and McBride plc, where she also chairs the Board’s Remuneration Committee. She is a non executive director at private company Fresca Group Ltd.

Elizabeth has significant experience in customer focussed business, having started her executive career at Colgate Palmolive before moving to Tesco plc. Previously Elizabeth was Senior Independent Director at both jd Wetherspoon plc and Unite Group plc, where she was also Remuneration Committee Chair.

Sean joined Dalata in November 2007, shortly after the business was founded. He trained as a chartered accountant with Sligo-based Gilroy Gannon and over the following fifteen years worked with companies including Dunnes Stores, Keelings, Aer Rianta International and Diageo, based in Ireland, Spain and Russia. Sean is an MBA graduate of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

Gervaise is a non-executive director with a background in senior management, international marketing and media. She serves as a non-executive director with Molten Ventures plc, Wells Fargo Bank International, Eason Retail plc and until recently Ulster Bank Ireland. Previously she was CEO of Communicorp (now Bauer Media Audio Ireland), Ireland’s largest independent radio group for four years to the end of 2016, and before that held senior roles in Ogilvy Worldwide for 16 years, most recently as Global Client Director. 

Jon is an experienced CFO with over 30 years of experience in senior finance positions. He is the chief financial officer and an executive director of Dr. Martens plc. He previously served as chief financial officer of Avant Homes and Travelodge and was the Finance Director for WHSmith Retail and Hodder Headline. Jon is a graduate of the University of East Anglia and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
