Different people and perspectives make us stronger.
Hospitality brings together people from many different backgrounds, cultures and experiences.
We value that difference and want colleagues to feel able to bring their individuality and perspectives to work.
Across our hotels and offices, our teams find opportunities to recognise and celebrate different cultures, identities and experiences, helping create workplaces where people can feel they belong.
We are now part of Scandic Hotels Group, bringing our people and hotels into a broader organisation with its own established approach to sustainability and social responsibility.
Social responsibility and inclusion is one of the focus areas within Scandic’s sustainability strategy, encompassing areas including diversity and inclusion, fair working conditions and business ethics, local communities and collaboration with organisations that share its values.
These themes connect strongly with work already taking place across our hotels.
As our organisations come together, our approach to inclusion and diversity will progressively align with Scandic’s wider sustainability framework.
Helping remove barriers to employment.
Our commitment to inclusion extends to how we recruit and the relationships we build within our communities.
We work with employment support organisations, schools and community partners to help create opportunities for people who may experience barriers to employment.
These partnerships can include training, work experience and employment opportunities. They also help us learn and develop more inclusive approaches to recruitment and the workplace.
Our teams have worked with organisations supporting people with disabilities and other groups who can experience barriers when entering employment.
We believe different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives make our workplaces stronger.
Our approach to inclusion and diversity is about creating environments where people feel respected, valued and able to contribute. We want colleagues to have the opportunity to participate, develop and progress, while helping to identify and remove barriers that can prevent people from reaching their potential.
Inclusion is part of how we think about responsible hospitality – from our workplace practices and policies to recruitment, development and the partnerships we build within our communities.
Learning through partnership
Partnerships can help us understand different experiences, challenge barriers and continue to develop more inclusive practices.
We work with external organisations and community partners that bring expertise and different perspectives to inclusion, employability and workplace participation.
